As al-Bukhsri stated, "'Amr b. Khalid related to us, quoting Zuhayr, quoting
Aba Ishaq, 'I heard al-Bars' b. 'Azib say, "The Companions, God be pleased with

Al-Bukhai then related it through Is~"i1 and Sufyan al-Thawri, from Abii

Ibn Jarir stated, "This is the wncensus of the early authorities, that they were
310 men, and a few more."
He also stated, "Mabad related to us, quoting Wahb, from Shu'ba, from
Abii Ishaq, from al-Bars'', who said, 'I and Ibn Wmar felt outnumbered at the
battle of Badr. The Emigrants totalled only appoximately 60, whereas the
Helpers were some 240."'
This is what is given in this account.
Ibn Jarir stated, "Muhammad b. Wbayd d-Muhaibi related to me, quoting
Aba Malik d-Jubani, from al-Hajjaj, he being the son of Amt, from d-Hakam,
