Varsity Boys
Marshall 26.5 vs Lumen

Marshall traveled to
JAX 60 in Jackson to take
on Lumen Christi and
earned a decisive victory.
Taking points in the first
game were Jonathan Burns
180-145, the team tied the
second position with a split
game score of 104 (a split
game is when two players
are used in one game),
Carter Casarez 165-133 and
Kameron George 170-150.
The team totals were 777-
709.
The second game saw
points from Burns 145-

124, Casarez 136-109 and
George 208-171. The team
took the game points 737-
716 and series 1,514-1,
and was up 16.5-3.5.
Marshall took all the
Baker points bowling 179-
173, 202-154 for a 381-
total.
“That was our best
Baker set of the season,”
said coach Mike Roach. “I
was very happy.”

Marshall brought up
some JV players to fill the
roster in its match versus
Lumen Christi, which

gained some experience for
the new players.
The Ladyhawks took
two points the first game
with Gillian Lemon winning
146-142 and Emily Lemon
150-146. Team totals were
577-696.
Mackenzie Heath took
a point in the second game
145-125, as did Tea Dubiel
135-109 and Gillian Lemon
148-142. Marshall was
edged out in the overall
total 667-659. Marshall
was down 15-5 going into
Bakers.
Marshall lost all Baker
points with scores of 130-
75, 117-111 and the overall
total, 247-186.
“COVID did a number

on our starters,” said coach
Sue Hutchings. “I am very
pleased that our JV girls
were ready to step up to the
plate.”

Pennfield 8.
The Redhawks defeated
Pennfield with conviction.
The first game saw points
from Jonathan Burns 174-
168, Aaron Couch 152-
124, Carter Casarez 173-
135 and Kam George
214-172. Jordan Sneed tied
his opponent at 160. The
team total was 873-769.
The second game
saw Burns win 232-171,
Casarez win 197-164 and

George win 219-139. The
team total was 997-882.
The series total was 1,870-
1,651. Marshall led 17.5-2.
heading into Bakers.
Marshall won the first
Baker game 149-148, lost
the second 173-139 and lost
the overall total 321-288.

Varsity Girls
Marshall 28 vs.
Pennfield 2
The Lady Redhawks
defeated Pennfield, which
was down a player. Earning
points for Marshall were
Mackenzie Heath 138-75,
Emily Lemon 170-140,
Gillian Lemon 190-176 and
Emily Rice 81-0. The team
totals were 686-554.

Marshall won 155-97, 126-
79 and 281-176.

Marshall High School senior Gillian Lemon will continue her bowling and academic
career at Aquinas College in the fall of 2022. Gillian said she has developed a love for the
sport of bowling and is looking forward to having a great senior season. Gillian has been an
important part of Marshall High School’s bowling program, bowling on the varsity squad
since she was a freshman. She has helped to build the program by recruiting new members
and providing increasing leadership over the years to her teammates. Pictured with Gillian
are her parents Brad and Aimee Lemon, sister and sophomore teammate Emily Lemon,
MHS Head Coach Sue Hutchings and Aquinas Head Coach Scott Curtis.
