through a design.
Icon
A graphic element that represents
an object or person.
Ideate
The creative stage of the design
process where potential design
solutions are generated using
research about the subject to
meet the goals of the brief.

Identity
The behavioural characteristics of
a company that define the
qualities synonymous with its level
of service, nature or approach to
doing business.
Imitation
The copy, reproduction or
adaptation of a design or image
seen elsewhere.
Implementation
The point at which a design is
produced and put into effect.

Inclusion
Soliciting the ideas, opinions and
views of the target group to
include in design decisions.
Index
A sign that features a direct link
between the sign and the object.
Logo
A graphic symbol designed to
represent the character of a
company, product or service.
Logotypes
A graphic symbol that identifies
the organisation it refers to.
