COUTURE
What to wear on the front row, when the giddy heights of couture will be unveiled on the catwalks before you? In short: nothing
understated. High-drama coats in patchwork faux fur and jewel tones rose to the occasion and the weather (and allowed for lazy
outfits underneath). A conceptual piece of jewellery proved an instant outfit elevator, as did standout shoes: heels are definitely back,
though so are cowboy boots. Bonus points if your look obscures the view of the person sitting behind you, like the huge nest of black
feathers perched on one showgoer’s head and paired with white opera gloves — think Eliza Doolittle goes to fashion week. ■
