Roasted Masala Cauliflower and
Broccoli with Tomatoes

Although broccoli rarely makes it to
the Indian dinner table, it is grown in
India. I grew up visiting my
grandmother’s home in Chandigarh,
where the gardener (mali) always
planted a row of broccoli plants at the
far end of the front garden. Likely, it
was more for show, but I’d often walk
over, pluck off a floret, and munch on it
right then and there. I was determined
to include broccoli (one of my kids’
favorite veggies) in this book. This
recipe worked perfectly.
