tion when it comes to building your online expert empire. This
is where you claim your topic and own it. The first step and
key is to know what’s already been said so you can formulate
your own opinion and even more important, differentiate your-
self. In general, you can start by studying the work of the ten
most influential people in your desired subject. You should be
on every email list of the current experts in your industry; you
should also buy their books and products, and attend as many
seminars as you can. Pay close attention to how others are posi-
tioning themselves and the sales process they take you through.
Every online Entrepreneur must master positioning and self-
branding. You should be thinking about questions like; why is
my content more valuable than others in my space? How Am I
different that everyone else? Educate, don’t sell! I want you to
be obsessed with value based content. The more value people
perceive in you the more you can charge. When I started as an
Internet Marketing coach to small business owners, I studied
the most creative thought leaders in my field, I studied what
they were doing, how they spoke and their positioning strate-
gies. I generated millions in consulting and coaching fees be-
cause I was able to articulate at a high level internet marketing
strategies, thus business owners put me in the “expert” class.
