designing the products and
services we use in our every-
day lives. These steps are:
(1) recognizing the need for a
product or service, (2) defining
and understanding the problem
(the need) completely, (3) doing
the preliminary research and
preparation, (4) conceptualizing
ideas for possible solutions,
(5) synthesizing the results,
(6) evaluating good ideas in
more detail, (7) optimizing the
result to arrive at the best pos-
sible solution, and (8) present-
ing the solution.
