FOOD HIEROGLYPHS
In order to have a better understanding of the Kemetic concept of food, it is necessary to
enter into a brief study of the food related hieroglyphic text. Doing so will reveal the deeper
meaning of the words and provide insight into the philosophy of food in Ancient Africa.
The word for meal is Asht – the day Asht and the evening Asht were very important in ancient times.
