overcomingSet,thelowerself(anger,hatred,greed,spiritualignorance,egoism,
fear,etc,).HerestoredtheEye,whichsymbolizesdivineconsciousness.Heaccom-
plishedthishealingprocessthroughteachings,whichbringwisdomthatleadsto
rightthinking,andrightacting.Theseteachingsleadtofreedomfromstressand
mentalimbalance.Thus,theultimateandonlytruepurposeofhealingistorestore
divineconsciousness.Thisistobeconsidered“optimalhealth.”Thiswasthebasis
ofthemedicalprofessionasDjehutiwasthegodofalldoctors.Thesymbolofthe
eyeofHeru(A),whichwasrepairedbyDjehuti,isstillwithustothisdayinthe
formofthesymbolofthepharmacist(H).Itisusedasanemblemdenotingthedrug
storeandmedicamentsforhealing.Itisanevolutionfromthealchemythatwas
practicedinmedievalEurope,whichwasitselfbasedonthemedicalscienceofAn-
