Thus,ifoneeatswhilefeelingtheeffectsofstress,theproperbreakdownandabsorptionofnutrients
willnottakeplace.Iftheeffectofstressischronic,thenonecanactuallybecomemalnourishedand
ill,eventhoughonemayeatingarelativelygooddiet,suchasavegetariandiet,anddevelopsevere
illnesses.
Asmentionedabove,eatingaproperdietasapathtophysicalhealthcannotbeoverlooked.Another
studydemonstratedtheeffectsofcertaintypesoffoodonthemind.Inastudywherevegetarians
wereunknowinglyfedmeatbasedproducts,theparticipantswerefoundtobecomeincreasinglyrest-
less,agitatedandaggressive...morestressed!Thus,wemustrealizewhatthesagesandsaintsofKe-
metknew,andwhichwesternersareonlynowstartingtorealize,thatone’sdietdoeshaveaneffect
onthemind.Thisisoneofthereasonswhyitwasstrictlyprohibitedforthespiritualaspirants(initi-
ates)toconsumemeatofanykind(includingpoultry,fishandseafood).Thus,ifonewishestogain
controloverthemindandemotions,one’sdietmustpromotepeaceofmind.Vegetariandietshave
beenproventohavepositive(calming)effectonthemind.Inaddition,aswewillsee,thevegetarian
dietis also the proper biological, physiological and spiritual food for the physical human body.

researchstudieswhichfurtherdocumenttheprofoundmind-bodyconnection.Onestudyperformed

ted,theuseofanimalsforresearchisnotbeingcondonednoradvocatedhere.Asthisinformationis
alreadyavailable,itisbeingprovidedtomotivatethosewhoneedtoseewhattheyconsidertobeem-
piricalevidence,bywesternstandards.Suchresearchprojectsareunnecessary,becausetheinforma-
tiontheyprovideisnotnew.Italreadyexists.Alltheinformationyouneedtoknowtobehealthyin
body,mindandspiritalreadyexists,andhasforthousandsofyears.Thus,thequestionarises,ifthis
istrue,whyistheworldbecomingmoreandmorediseaseridden?Itisbecausethisinformationis
generallyignoredbythemainstreamhealthorganizations,themedicalandscientificcommunities,
thenewsmedia,andconsequently,thepublic.Themind-bodyconnectionandtheeffectsofstresson
theindividual,aswellastherootcauseofalldis-easeandstress,isthebasisofmysticalphilosophy,
