abouttheanatomyofandhowtomaintaintheircarsorothervehiclesandtheirhomes,thantheir
body,thevehicleortemplefortheirsoul.Inthewisdomteachingabove,theKemeticsagesexplainto
usthatjustasthehumanbodygivesbirthtoahumanbaby,theSpiritgivesbirthtothephysicalbody,
andthus,astheoffspringisofthesamenatureastheparent,thebodyisessentiallySpirit.Justas
thereisnodifferencebetweentheoceanandthewavesitgivesbirthto,thebodyisonewiththeSpir-
it(God,Goddess,SupremeBeing,etc.).Thus,one’scareofone’sbodyshouldnotbeamatterofvan-
ity,butspirituality,andjustaswithanyothersacredwork,itshouldbecarriedoutwiththeutmost
precision,knowledge,love,anddedication(devotionofpurpose).Also,asitistheSpiritpervading
themindthatallowsittofunction,themindmustalsobeviewedasbeinginherentlyspiritualin
nature,andthus,itspurposewouldhavetoalsotieintotheperformanceofsacredwork.Thus,refer-
ringtoahumanbeingasacomplexofbody,mindandspirit,isaformalityforbeingabletocommu-
nicateaboutthedifferentaspectsofahumanbeing,whoisinrealitya 100 %spiritualbeing.Muchin

Ignoranceastothetruenatureandpurposeofthebody,andtheproperwaytocareforit,ispervasive
inthegeneralsociety,andisfurthercomplicatedbythemedia,espousingtheresultsofvariousstud-
ies,whichareoftentimescontrarytotherecommendationsofauthenticspiritualpreceptors(teachers).
Forexample,onerecentstudystatedthatthemoderatedailyconsumptionofwineandotheralcoholic
beveragescouldprolongone’slifespan.Theunquestioningmindwouldreadilyacceptthis,andactu-
allyfeelthattheyareengaginginhealthylifestylehabitsbydrinkingalcohol.Nevermindthatthe
consumptionofalcoholisresponsibleformanyhighwayrelateddeathsduetoaccidentsandnumer-
oushealthproblems.Andwhataboutthefactthatevenoneglassofwineorotheralcoholicbeverage
killslivercellsinthephysicalbody...whichaswehavesaid,isnothingotherthanSpirititself?Would
oneofferanalcoholicbeveragetotheDivine?Aswillbepointedoutinadditionaldetaillaterinthis

andshouldnotbeconsumedinanyquantity.Peoplesometimesremarkthatwineandbeerwerecon-

ment.First,thenatureoftheseproductsinancienttimes,especiallybreworbeer,wasnotasitis
today.Today’ssystemofrefinementanddistillationrenderstheendproductsbothmorepotentand
toxicthantheancientprocess.Secondly,eventhoughthereweremanyEnlightenedspiritualleaders
inKamit,noteveryoneinthepopulationwasEnlightened,otherwisetherewouldbenoneedforthe
EnlightenedmasterstoteachaboutMaat,thepracticeofvirtueandrighteousness,andtheotherspir-
itualdisciplinesandpracticeswhichleadonetoovercomethelowernatureandbecomeEnlightened.
Thus,eventhen,thepracticesoftheinitiatesandEnlightenedpersonalitiesheldtoahigherstandard
thanthemasses.Onlythosewhocouldnotcontrolthemselvesinaspirituallymaturemannerengaged
