Blackpool climbing towers – Why Not Associates

Another project concept by Gordon Young was the design

of two 20-metre-high climbing towers, created for Blackpool

Council in England in 2006. The towers were cast in black

concrete. White granite inserts emphasise this gigantic piece

of typography. Each face of the two towers offers climbing

routes of different levels of diffi culty.
