Lightheadedness, dizziness.
Severe shortness of breath/wheezing.
Change in skin color to bluish/grayish.
Severe headache.
Subject appears confused or agitated.
Nausea.
Unstable gait.
Visual problems.
If one or more of the above criteria are present, the technologist will terminate the test, stop
the treadmill, and initiate the following emergency action plan:
Press EMERGENCY STOP on the ISIS screen. The system will give the following
auditory message:
“Press COOL DOWN on treadmill controller, then press STOP BELT.”
Assist the SP off the treadmill.
Place SP in the supine position on the floor if necessary.
Remain with the SP and call the physician.
When the SP has stabilized, complete the information in the system.
The system will record the time spent in the current stage at the time the
EMERGENCY STOP button was pushed.
The system will go to the Priority 1 Stopping Criteria (listed above).
Enter the appropriate response. Check all that apply.
The remaining stages and Recovery will not be completed.
After the Stopping Criteria have been entered, press NEXT STAGE to go to the
Component Status screen. The Status will be set to “Partial Complete” with the
comment “Priority 1 Stopping Criteria.”
Press the Finish button to exit this test.
