Matched Pair of Black Forest Hunting Plaques
Late 19th Century
Each finely carved cartouche shaped panel centering a naturalistically carved
hunting trophy of a slain figure of a doe or a buck with its rigid tongue sticking
out, a pheasant, a pigeon and various hunting accessories: a powder horn, a rifle
and a canteen, reserved against branches of oak leaves.
Length of each 33 inches (83.8 cm)

his sinewy musculature, holding a satchel of seeds
and dispersing into the ground below, inscribed in
ground “Fullborn fecit”, on the side of base of bronze
with the foundry mark “AKt-Ges.HGladenbecku Sohn”,
mounted on a black marble plinth base.
