return to fight for the UFC, Tito signed a contract to return to the UFC. The newly
forged relationship between Dana and Tito has not turned out well for Tito. Matt
Linland was another fighter who found himself on Dana’s shit list. Matt went to
another organization to fight after Dana fired him for wearing an unapproved t-shirt
at UFC 54 weigh-ins. Rampage Jackson and Dana had words flying in the press when
Rampage wanted a movie career over fighting in the UFC and left the UFC to do a
movie, The A Team. Rampage is now back fighting in UFC. Both Ken and Frank
Shamrock have had words in the press with Dana and there was a lawsuit with Ken
Shamrock. Pat Miletich went to the IFL and paid for that with Dana, there is no love
lost there. Greg Jackson, a well-known and admired MMA trainer who runs a training
camp in Albuquerque, New Mexico has been on the negative side of Dana in the press
lately. Those are just a few of the fighters who, unfortunately for them, went up
against Dana. In almost every case, the result was not very favorable for them.
Dana remains King of MMA and does not intend to give up his throne or his
kingdom. He is the king who rules with an iron fist and everyone is expected to do his
bidding or face the executioner. If anything, he continues to conquer other countries
with the expansion of the UFC. Dana claims that the UFC fights are seen in 500 million
homes on some form of television, and he says, with a few deals they have in the
works, that number will soon be one billion. In 2009, the UFC hired an individual to
head their Asian Operations division, which covers China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong
Kong, and Southeast Asia. You will find Dana on the cover of Kampiro Magazine,
(December 2010) with a newly signed Japanese fighter. China alone has a population
of 1.3 billion people, a majority of whom are in the UFC’s primary demographic
target. Obviously, Dana wants nothing less than global dominance not only in the
world of MMA but the sports world.
