The Last Gasp (16x16)

Sunset Sky
Sunsets are notorious for their flamboyant colors. A believable sunset is all about
choosing the correct values. Because the setting sun is so bright, the land below it
appears quite dark in comparison, often reflecting a bit of that bright orange or red
as the sun dips toward the horizon.
When painting clouds at sunset, consider the light that bounces and reflects off
the clouds. The clouds will appear warmer close to the light source and will move
from reds, violets and blue-violets to blues as they move further from the setting sun.
The airy edges of the clouds may be illuminated.
As in the daytime, the sky is often a darker, cooler blue up high, and a lighter,
warmer blue near the horizon.
