- Prepare for the fast; mentally, physically and spiritually. By
eating simple foods for a few days leading up to the fast, and non-
cooked foods the day before you will find it easier. Make a space
where you are not interrupted by phone calls, visits or distractions. - Have an understanding partner, friend or someone
experienced with you for your first fast. - Rest as much as possible during the fast.
- If you feel weak during the fast, it is a sign that your body is
cleansing, so do not worry. - If you need to do anything apart from rest during your fast then
use fresh juices, preferably citrus which will keep your sugar levels
high, decreasing the speed of cleansing, but increasing the
availability of energy for necessary activities. - Be very aware of how you break your fast, and if you must
break it early try and stay on juices until your 'agreed' time is done. - Keep your diet simple, no herbs, onions, garlic or other
stimulants for at least one week after the fast has ended. - Most of all, appreciate the work your body is doing for you - it is
your natural doctor.
