To start with try four minutes per stage. Again, if this is too
much to begin with then maybe the preparation and the first two
stages will be suitable to start with. Do aim to extend your practice
to 40-50 minutes for the full five stages.


So toss aside the coarse straw mat

Of self-denial in this world,

And for your prayer mat take flesh

As the place for your devotions

Negative emotions such as anger, frustration, jealousy and hatred
can affect our minds, bodily functions and ultimately our spirit.
Take a minute to close your eyes. Breathe deeply then focus on
the bodily organs that you feel. One by one, become a witness to
these events. Breathe deeply and let the negativity flow away on
the out breath. With practice, on opening your eyes you will notice
the symptoms of negativity and the cause have both diminished to
at least some extent.


What we do is not as important as being aware of what we
do. If you are a high ranking politician or a kitchen-cleaner, it is not
the job that makes you who you are, it is the awareness with
which you carry out the job that matters.
