    An inequality is a mathematical statement in which the two sides of the statement are
    not equal to each other. If the two sides of the statement are not equal to each other,
    then the possibilities are one of the sides must be either greater than or less than the
    other side. The symbol for greater than is ‘>’, and the symbol for less than is ‘<’.

  1. Additive property of inequality
    The additive property of inequality states that if a number is added to both sides of
    an inequality, then the value of the inequality will not change.


That is, if a < b, then a + c < b + c

if a > b, then a + c > b + c


The property may be explained through Braille text.


  1. Multiplicative property of inequality
    The multiplicative property of inequality states that when an inequality is multiplied
    on both sides by a positive integer, then the value of the inequality is not changed.
