2. SKETCHING THE SUBJECT

When sketching out the subject, use a soft black pastel pencil or charcoal stick. Then gently rub your

fingers over the drawing to wipe away any excess black pastel dust. This will keep your painting clean

as you add more colors.

Sketch lightly on the surface, without including much detail.
