Jane’s husband dashes toward the kitchen shouting. “ Honey, guess what!
My boss gave me two tickets to the Mariners game. Great seats and VIP
parking. Do you think that just this once you might ... ”
He hopes Jane will be excited, but when he gets to the kitchen, she
looks terrified. “I can’t,” she says, already beginning to hyperventilate. “You
know how crowds freak me out.”

Rachel is in the bedroom with the shades drawn, having one of her crying
spells. After an hour or so, her roommate cracks open the door.“Hey Rache,
I made a pizza. You want some?”
Rachel doesn’t even look up to answer.“Not now. I’m not very hungry.”
Rachel’s roommate walks over and sits on the bed, putting the plate
of pizza on the night stand. “Do you want to talk about it?” she asks.
