Raw Fresh Vegetables and Fruits


Promote Healthy Elimination


The Bragg Healthy Lifestyle emphasizes at all times that a
person should have 1 to 2 raw coarse salads a day. The base of
these salads should be raw chopped or grated cabbage, carrots,
beets, broccoli, cauliflower and celery. (See page 115 for our
famous Bragg Healthy Salad Recipe!) The fleshy part of raw
vegetables and fruits, contain cellulose, a colloidal element
that retains water and acts as a soft bulk throughout the entire
digestive system and helps promote health and good
elimination! If for some reason you can’t eat coarser raw foods
grate or blend them – or can’t tolerate them – then grind 2
Tbsps. flaxseeds (great over veggies, soups, etc.) or make a
flaxseed tea and drink 20 minutes after meals (page 50 ). Or
you may presoak overnight 1 Tbsp. flaxseeds in 12 cups of
water. In morning stir and drink or if too thick, spoon eat and
then after, drink your Bragg Vinegar Cocktail, on page 114.
Another suggestion for relieving constipation is to mix
1-2 Tbsps. crude blackstrap molasses in cup of hot distilled
water ( it’s also a delicious, healthy coffee substitute). You
may also add 1 Tbsp psyllium husk powder to this drink.
Have a cup upon arising and one an hour after dinner.

Eliminate the “Dribbles” Exercise
To keep the bladder and sphincter muscles tightened
and toned, urinate – stop – urinate – stop, 6 times, twice
daily when voiding, especially after the age of 40. This
simple exercise works wonders for men and women.

For easier-flowing, healthful bowel movements:
It’s natural to squat to have bowel movements.
It opens up anal area more directly. When on
toilet, putting feet up 6 to 8 inches on waste
basket or footstool gives the same squatting
effect. Now raise and stretch your hands above
your head so that the transverse colon can
empty completely with ease. It’s important to
drink 8 glasses of pure water daily! (Read page
121 and take your psyllium or flaxseed drink daily.)

Buy unscented, uncolored tissues and toilet paper, as both can irritate the skin.
