O^4 Create wainscoting
Measure the length and height of the
wall to be wainscoted. Cut lengths of
cork to your desired measurements
as the base of the wainscoting. Cut
1cm strips of cork for the top and
boase rails and batten pieces. Stick
the top and base rails onto the base
piece of cork with adhesive, followed
by the batten pieces evenly spaced
along the wainscoting. Let this dry
before applying three coats of Vivid
White paint. Apply a coat of spray
adhesive to the back of the cork
wainscoting and the wall. Press
irmly into place and let dry.

O^5 Add roof tiles
Use a utility knife (or similar cutting
implement) and ruler to cut the Black
Marble vinyl self-stick tile into three
even strips. Cut these strips into even
lengths to create square roof tiles.
Remove the sticky backing and apply
extra adhesive to the back of the tile
and to the area on the roof where
it will be positioned. Press into place.
Secure the irst row of tiles onto the
roof, then repeat with a second and
third row, making sure the joins
in the upper row of tiles are ofset from
the joins in the lower row of tiles to
give an authentic appearance.

O^6 Match the furniture
To continue the farmhouse style of the
house, paint all of the furniture white
as the base colour. Use gold and silver
markers to create accent details on
items such as knobs, legs and the oven
range. Add ofcuts of the Mocha Parquet
tile on tabletops, benchtops and chair
seats to create a modern kitchen setting.
Apply marble contact paper in the
bathroom suite and kitchen splashback
to mimic marble tiles. To add another
layer of realism, create throw cushions
and duvet covers out of scraps of fabric
and mini artworks out of pictures
from the internet. ❖
