South Australian Angler – June 2018

(Nancy Kaufman) #1

for a 100 litre ice box. I can see this
CrossFisher model being very popular
with both lure and fly casters.
Stacer’s new Wild Riders replaces
the Easy Rider series, which has been
around for quite some time. This
new five-model range offers models
between 4.99m-6.19m, covering
a number of applications. All are
bowriders that can be used for fishing,
skiing, wakeboarding or family cruising.
Once again, there’s a dedicated angling
version within the Wild Rider range that
provides casting platforms fore and aft.
For those in the market for an
offshore rig, Stacer has expanded its Sea
Ranger series of plate aluminiums. It’s
now possible to buy centre consoles up to
the 709 size, which is exactly what keen
blue water anglers will be looking for. All
models in this range feature fully welded
floors and self-draining decks, both of
which are highly desirable for those
planning to fish well away from the coast.
Another handy addition the Stacer
line up is the 589 Ocean Ranger – a
walk-around model that would be ideal
for chasing bluefin or dropping on the
deep reefs for nannygai and samsons.
I drove this model for quite some time,
tackling a particularly nasty squall that
whipped up metre-plus seas, and was
thoroughly impressed. There is no doubt
this model will be an instant hit in one of
the trailer boat market’s most popular
and competitive sectors.
The Ocean Rangers now come in
sizes from5.89m-7.59m and feature a
fixed bait station, self-draining deck, live
bait tank and clever tilt-down overhead
rod holders. The console offers plenty
of dry storage room, which is something
you can never get enough of in a rig that
is designed to take offshore.
There is no doubt Stacer is on a
winner with its new Revolution hull,
which really does offer significant
advantages for boaties of all persuasions.
You can expect the new model range to
start arriving here from the Boat Show
period onward.
