Eynsham on Thames

Saturday March 14th, 10am-Dusk
This is the day before the river close season,
fish 10am until dusk for the BIG perch that this fishery
is known for. This event is subject to river conditions,
watch ‘Last Chance Event’ under Events on the
forum nearer the time.
See ‘Dropshot Event’ for directions.

Gloucester Canal,

LAS AGM

Sunday April 12th, 9-4pm
Secretary’s cup and prizes to be won. The LAS AGM
will be held at The Stables Cafe on the side of the
Gloucester canal. Doors open at 9am, coffee/tea and
bacon butties will be on offer free of charge to all
members attending. The AGM will start at 9.30am,
it is hoped this will take 60 - 90 minutes to
complete and then we go fishing!
Gary Palmer advised us this stretch is one of
the best at this time of year, it can produce not only
big zander but big pike and big perch as well, so
be prepared for surprises.
We fish until 4pm for the Secretary’s Cup, the
fishing day ticket will be paid for by the LAS.
There will be prizes for the best fish caught.
Car parking is right beside the cafe and is
council run, so do have some change and buy
a parking ticket.

Newport Pagnell,

Sherrington Fishery

Sunday May 10th, 9-4pm
A great favourite, seven lakes with hundreds of
swims to fish, plenty of pike with a few perch. Fingers
crossed we will have a new sponsor for this event
and potentially some excellent prizes.
It’s easy to get to; from the M1, at Junction 14 you
have Milton Keynes on one side and Newport Pagnell
on the other. Take this turn, the A509 and follow it
until you reach the T-junction in the High Street, turn
right and take the right turn just at the edge of town,
marked Bedford A422. After a mile or so you will see
a large lake, part of the fishery on your right, keep on
and the entrance is between the trees on the right.
With the water being out of town there does not
appear to be a post code for the SatNavs.
£5 for the day’s fishing.

‘Dropshot Day’

Saturday June 20th, 9-4pm
SPONSORED BY GERRY’S LURE FISHING
This venue is ‘perch heaven’, so called as it produces so many
big perch over 3lb). Prizes will only be given for the best fish
caught on the dropshot method.
The entrance to the fishery car park is just off Swinford toll
bridge (if you have a satnav ensure it accepts toll roads otherwise
it will take you a very long way round to avoid this bridge, the toll
is 5p), next to a bungalow. Do not turn into the bungalow drive,
the entrance is next to it. The toll bridge is on the B4044,
post code OX29 4BY.
£5 for the day’s fishing.

Frisby Lakes

Saturday June 6th, 9-4pm
Another favourite that can produce good pike, good perch and
even good zander. LAS prizes for best fish. Two lakes and plenty
of swims to be fished. £5 for the day’s fishing.
Hoby Road, Ashfordby, Leicestershire LE14 3TL.

Esthwaite Water,
