FITTINGS
Winches – built using photos of the full size vessel as drawings
show different ones, Plasticard and strip rod used again, Macs
Mouldings’ drums, slightly modified.
Hiab Crane Kit – Model Slipway. Rib built on the lower hull of a
Macs Mouldings rib. Sides replaced with rubber tubing and detail
added inside.
Rubber fendering – sourced from a local company, round front
fender being pipe insulation with a copper tube inside to add rigidity.
Pipe insulation has a thin layer of foam covering it with spaces for
the yellow straps.
Small Fittings – Macs Mouldings, used all around the model, some
hatches, vents, doors and bin.
Figures – Tamia Rally Mechanics, slightly modified for ‘sea duty’.
Radar units – robbe.

DRIVE SYSTEMS
I modified the Kort nozzles with small wings (see picture) on the
trailing edges so that the thrust is directed more to a 90 degree
angle to the tug, which improves the manoeuvrability considerably!
Driveline – 8 mm shafts, struts and steerable Kort nozzles, Mobile
Marine Models.
Props – Prop Shop.
Main drive motors – from an invalid carriage, running on 24 V with
speed controllers by Electronize.
Bow Thruster – Raobesch controlled by Mtroniks.
