CANNES YACHTING FESTIVAL


WITH OVER 50,000 VISITORS, the 38th Cannes Yachting Festival was a resounding success
showcasing an impressive 570 yachts, and also including nearly 100 world premieres from the
fi nest shipyards.
Last year’s event set the standard for the nautical calendar, with services and equipment being
presented by 496 exhibitors throughout the two ports – the Vieux Port and Port Pierre Canto.
A fi rst for the festival was the Concours d’Élégance. Th e parade was held at the Vieux Port,
treating visitors to a rare spectacle of vintage and modern day-boats under 12 m honouring the
rich heritage of pleasure boating.
Also making its fi rst appearance at
the event was the SUP Night Festival. Th e
100 km stand-up paddle overnight relay
started on the Palais de Festivals and
fi nished the following morning in the
middle of the Old Port.
Th e Super Yachts Extension area
brought together almost 40 of the largest
yachts in port. Th is year the extension
welcomed the Baglietto 46 m as well
as the largest sailing boat Seawave,
presented by the South African shipyard
Southern Wind.
Italian shipbuilder Ferretti Group
displayed an impressive number of new
models, including the 22.9 m Riva 76, the
26.7 m Riva 88 Domino Super and the
impressive 32.9 m Custom Line 108.
