HOW TO DOWNLOAD YOUR FREE CRUISING GUIDE
You can download an entire volume or just the chapter that applies to your cruising
area. Below is one example for a New England cruise.
We’re planning a cruise from Provincetown, Massachusetts, on the tip of
Cape Cod, to Martha’s Vineyard, an island to the south of Cape Cod. Select the
charts and chapters needed to safely plan your cruise.
Access the NOAA website at http://www.nauticalcharts.noaa.gov/.

  1. Click on “View NOAA Charts” on the right side

  2. Find the “Nautical Charting Publications” section on the left side blue
    column

  3. Click on “United States Coast Pilot”

  4. Click on “Download United States Coast Pilot and Updates”

  5. Scroll down and read the brief descriptions of each Coast Pilot. Look at
the list above. We’ll fi nd what we’re looking for in Coast Pilot 1 or 2. Take
a look at Coast Pilot 2 fi rst, since our cruise runs south from Cape Cod.

  6. Click the link labeled Coast Pilot 2 Download Page

  7. Scroll down the chapter list and fi nd the one covering your route.
Chapters 4 and 5 should cover the entire trip from beginning to end.
Th e fi rst page of each chapter shows an illustration of the area covered
by the chapter. Charts are superimposed over the illustration to show
every chart you need for safe cruising.
