This Bluetooth battery monitor offers a
simplified, economic means of tracking
battery state. It bypasses the need to
install a shunt that measures current in
and out of the battery bank in favour of
using battery voltage and temperature
to determine the state of charge.
In place of a dedicated display,
the device communicates with a
smartphone app via Bluetooth. This
further simplifies installation as the
only wiring is from the device to the
battery terminals and there’s no need
to make a cut-out for a display in the

Lymington based A+T Instruments is gradually extending its range of
electronics that are compatible with B&G’s legacy H2000 and H3000
systems. The latest product is the ATP1 instrument processor, which is
designed as a direct replacement for the B&G systems, while exceeding
their performance. This product represents another step in the company’s
philosophy of facilitating a step-by-step upgrade path of existing systems,
so that the failure of a single component doesn’t force owners into having
to replace their entire instrument system.

Track battery state
Windfinder has added animated, interactive weather maps to its website
and Windfinder Pro Android and iOS apps. The wind overlay enables
users to easily identify areas of strong wind and avoid calm patches,
while retaining an easy option to switch back to spot location forecasts
and minimising data usage. Forthcoming features that will build on these
new maps include additional layers to show precipitation and waves.

4kVA – the equivalent of a 17A
shorepower supply. The unit is
housed in a soundproofed capsule with anti-vibration feet, which reduces
the noise output to just 53dBA at a distance of 7m – a similar level to
a dishwasher running in an adjoining room. The generator has a small
