NEW

RENAISSANCE DOWNTOWN
HOTEL DUBAI
Scheduled opening mid-October
A key launch from Marriott International, this 298-
room hotel showcases the new-look Renaissance
brand which now has more emphasis on lifestyle,
design (WA International) and discovery (look out
for ‘hotel navigators’). Evening programmes will
have a strong local tie-in with artist performances,
interactive painting, cooking classes and grape
tastings. Look out for ‘hotel navigators’ who will help
guests discover hidden gems in line with the brand’s
‘discovery’ ethos.

Scheduled opening November
RADISSON BLU HOTEL, DUBAI CANAL VIEW
Scheduled opening Q1 2018
Radisson Blu is entering the district at the double
with the 432-room Dubai Waterfront hotel – due
to open mid-November – complemented by the
188-room Dubai Canal View property (and 16
suites), which is scheduled to open early next year.
MICE will be larger at the former, with 1,000sqm of
meeting and conferencing space (10 meeting rooms),

Canal View. The Waterfront will offer free wifi and
night owls will head to the Gotha ‘super club’ – the
Cannes export is set to make a splash before the
year is out. Other F&B includes Makar Scottish bar, a
Cocktail Bar and the FireLake Grill House, Republik
restaurant from Beirut.

THE OPUS
Scheduled opening 2018
This eye-catching architectural showpiece (designed
by the late Dame Zaha Hadid) features two

It remains a work in progress but a tour several
months ago illustrated the scale, and 12 venues are
earmarked. For all the grandeur, and 56,000sq ft of
office space, the hospitality component is small with
just 93 rooms (and 60 apartments).
