- Smoke & Pepper
OPEN TUES-SAT NOON-2.30PM; 6PM-10PM. CLOSED SUN &
MON. LAST ORDERS 2.15PM & 9.45PM.
All the offerings at this contemporary Asian outfit
are cooked over a charcoal barbecue grill, so you
can order a Whole Sea Bass ($40), rubbed with
coriander and turmeric, or nicely tender Black
Angus Beef Skewers ($28), lightly glazed with soy
and mirin, and served smouldering over Japanese
charcoal. The best value-for-money meal here can
be had at lunch, when $25 will buy you a three-
course set comprising
an appetiser like green
papaya and pumpkin salad,
a choice of main course such
as a chicken burger with teriyaki
sauce, and a scoop of ice cream for dessert. It’s a
steal for lunch with professional service and a great
view of the city.
