World Class Tae Kwon Do has raised
1.2 million dollars for their local
children’s hospital and is leading
the way for others to do the same.
Breaking 5,000 boards may sound like a
competition, or even a world record attempt.
However, for the students of Master Chong’s
World Class Tae Kwon Do Centers in Buff alo,
New York, that activity is an annual tradition
known as Kicking for Miracles. Th e event is
likely the nation’s largest “break-a-thon” and has,
to date, raised an incredible 1.2 Million dollars
for the John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital.

Master Chong’s World Class Tae Kwon
Do Centers operate fi ve dojangs in the
suburbs of Buff alo, New York. Since their
beginning twenty-fi ve years ago, they have
grown to be one of the largest schools in the
country, with over 2,300 active students.
Tae Kwon Do Times spoke with school
founder, Grandmaster Sun Ki Chong,
about the idea behind Kicking for Miracles,
its remarkable growth, and the teaching
philosophy that has brought success not
only to his own schools but to dozens of
affi liated World Class schools nationwide.
