Fulham FC — Fulham v Southampton — 6 January 2018

(Barry) #1
28 The Official Fulham FC Matchday Programme

“There are quite a few French

speakers at Fulham and that

helps. Also, London is similar to

Paris. I don’t really go out much,

though. I tend to go home after

training and spend time with my

family - I have a young daughter

  • or watch television. When I

do go out, it’s to restaurants or

shopping.”

We speak to Neeskens -

named by his father after Dutch

international Johan Neeskens

  • on the phone at his Fulham

home the day after the Ipswich

game. After telling his new

Amazon Echo to be quiet, he

admits he’s looking forward

to the challenge of facing

top-flight Southampton at the

Cottage this afternoon.

“We’ll do our best to defeat

them,” says the 25-year-old DR

Congo international. “I know

that won’t be easy but we

think we can beat them if we

approach the game the right

way. They’re struggling in the

league right now so the game

might not be their top priority

and it could it be a good time to

be playing them.”

The FA Cup is often described

as one of the most famous

competitions in the world and,

while league success is Fulham’s

main aim this term, a little cup

run wouldn’t do us any harm.

States Kebano: “We just want

to do the best we can. I used to

“When I first came

over, it took me a while

to settle down, probably

about six months”
