SCOTSMAN NW 1408 ICE MAKER
Available through Hubbard Systems, the unit combines
compact design with high output
Hubbard Systems has launched a new Scotsman ice machine capable
of producing almost 700kg of
ice per day, yet able to fit into
the industry standard 760mm
(30”) wide format. This latest
member of the NW Series,
the NW 1408, is known as the
Slim Fitter. It is said to be the
market’s only 30” machine
capable of producing such a
high volume of ice. The NW
1408 is one of Scotsman’s
vertical evaporator range of
products. A modular machine,
sitting on top of a separate ice
bin, it makes either full-sized
12g dice ice cubes or 6g half
dice ice cubes. Alongside its
ability to slot into small spaces,
the Slim Fitter is kitted out
with the latest Scotsman ice
system technology, including
the ‘one touch’ cleaning
system. This is designed to
make it easy for end user staff
to maintain the day-to-day
hygiene of the machine. Simon
Aspin, commercial director of
Hubbard Systems said: “Being
able to pack this much ice production into the industry standard 30”
format is going to be a huge bonus for sites that need more ice but
have limited space.”

ALTO SHAAM VECTOR OVEN
FEM snaps up four-in-one cooker
FEM has introduced the Vector multi-cook oven, manufactured by Alto Shaam, to the UK market. The
unit offers up to four separate oven chambers in one compact unit. Each is independently controlled, with
its own time, temperature and fan settings. FEM says there is no possibility of flavour transfer between the
chambers, and all units are 530mm wide. Airflow technology is claimed to deliver fast and even cooking,
while ventless operation and the fact that it needs no water connection, means it can be placed anywhere.
The oven’s speed is down to the Structured Air Technology feature. This is designed to deliver a high
velocity, vertical airflow from the bottom and top of each chamber. It should produce even temperature
control throughout each chamber and faster cooking results. The unit’s touchscreen panel is claimed to be
intuitive and can be programmed with pre-set recipes. When food in any chamber is cooked, staff are alerted
with an audio alarm. The smallest Vector is the two-chamber VMC-H2H, which measures 533mm wide by
993mm deep and 724mm high.

Manufacturer launches new double basket model
Fryer manufacturer Valentine Equipment has rolled out the new
TF55 table-top twin tank, twin basket fryer. Featuring two 5litre capacity
tanks, pressed from single pieces of stainless steel with rounded
corners and without welding, the TF55 joins the TF range of Valentine
table-top fryers, which is said to add more capacity and flexibility for
professional kitchens. “We are delighted that Valentine has developed
and launched the new TF55 as it delivers the expected Swiss-made
quality in a table-top unit,” said Bob Witherall, MD of Valentine
Equipment and Cuisinequip. “But with the twin baskets it gives chefs
and operators more capacity and rapid heating for frying excellent
quality foods. The operation and cleaning are simple with a single
button to operate and chassis and tanks that are easy to remove and
clean. The dimensions of 420mm (width), 415mm (depth) and 420mm
(height) also mean it is compact and will fit into the limited space that
many chefs and operators have to function in,” he concluded.
