THE Husqvarna forest technical helmet
is a sturdy, lightweight and versatile
protective helmet with ear protection
and visor for maximum safety. The
one-hand ratchet allows the user to
adjust the size of the helmet quickly
and easily while wearing it, and a
textile six-point harness provides
comfort and minimises pressure.
The visor has been designed for
better protection of the user’s face
and provides perfect visibility when
folded both up and down. It is also
etched, to achieve low weight and low
light reduction. The mesh ventilation
system features extra-wide holes for a
comfortable head temperature. A metal
mesh covers the holes to prevent dirt

and water from passing through.
The helmet’s protective capability
decreases when exposed to UV light,
but the UV expire indicator shows
the current condition of the helmet
and lets you know when it is time
to replace it, ensuring you never go
unprotected.
It has been tested in extreme
conditions and works in temperatures
of up to -40 degrees. For maximum
comfort, the hearing protectors can
be adjusted both horizontally and
vertically. There is also an option to
add an integrated FM radio in the
hearing protectors, and a headlamp
slot is built into the helmet.

SIMILAR to any piece of
machinery, PPE equipment
should be regularly
maintained to ensure end-
user safety at all times. Clothing should be
washed regularly on normal wash settings at
temperatures up to 60°C. Air drying is always
preferable as spin drying can damage not only
your clothing, but the machine as well. For
tougher jobs, a tablespoon of grease solvent
can help make heavily soiled PPE fresh again.
While the cut-retardant material should
not be repaired or modified by anyone other
than an approved specialist, the waterproof

or comfort layers of the PPE can be easily
fixed by anyone with a sewing kit. If the
waterproofing needs improving, simply iron the
jacket on the coldest setting to reactivate the
hydrophobic coating.
When it comes to eyewear and visors,
it’s important they are cleaned correctly to
prevent scratches on the lens. The best way
to keep your safety glasses scratch-free is
to gently blow away any loose dirt or debris,
then rinse your lenses under a tap or use a
lens-cleaning spray. Ensure they are wiped dry
with a microfibre cloth to remove streaks and
cleaning solution residue.
