22: ADVISING DOCTOR OF NURSING PRACTICE “CLINICIANS” ■ 493
Focus Area Specific Topics for Presentations
Health policy
dissemination and
implementation
- Scientific study of implementation of state, local, regional, or
national policies, including but not limited to major changes
in health care delivery systems (e.g., bundled payments,
population health, care coordination). These changes may be
fostered by federal/ state/ private decision makers and/ or
regulations. - Evaluations of initiatives to promote the use of evidence
in policymaking in various domains of health policies,
including cross sector policies (e.g., in juvenile justice,
education, etc.) - Methods/ designs for evaluations of policy implementation,
for example, randomized program evaluation, stepped-
wedge, in- depth analyses - Rigorous evaluations of implementation outcomes of
policies, including unintended consequences and economic
dimensions, such as return on investment (ROI) - Studies testing optimal strategies to implement or enhance
uptake of policies
Models, measures, and
methods - Measures and methods to capture the dynamic evolution
of interventions and the contexts in which they are
implemented - Studies demonstrating the application of simulation and
statistical modeling techniques to implementation research
questions - Research designs to maximize the value of observational
studies for design and implementation (D&I; including but
not limited to natural experiments such as the impact of major
policy rollouts) - Research developing theories/ methods/ measures to study
de- implementation - Research that focuses on the development and testing of
theoretical and evaluation models for D&I processes
Prevention and public
health - Applications of prevention science methods within
dissemination and implementation research studies - Studies of the implementation of hospitals and health care
systems collaboration with community organizations and/
or governmental public health to promote disease
prevention - Studies of evidence- based multifaceted and multilevel
interventions to disseminate and implement prevention
programs - Use of community- based participatory research in disease
prevention and health promotion
