INCE the last instalmentof this
rebuild, the mixtureof new, original
andsecondhand bodysections
has beenremoved for preparation
andpainting.The fi rst sectionto rejoin the
chassis, as is always thecase withrebuilds
of the Series and Defender models,was
the bulkhead. Its originalstructurewas
fairly solid, despiteevidenceof previous
repairs and, althoughsome tidying up

Britpart’s Paul Myerswas bought asa
stalled project with the chassis
restored and an assortmentof new,
old andpartly-r efurbished body
panels loosely fi tted for delivery.Those
panels have now beenrepainted, and
we’re readyto start rebuilding onto the
rolling chassis.

would have made it perfectlyserviceable,
ownerPaul is aimingfor the best possible
standard in thisrebuild.So the bulkhead
has now been fullyrefurbishedby Tom
Pickfordof WW Spares. With that main
sectionsettled in place and loosely bolted
to the chassis, it madesenseto fi t as
manycomponents as possible into the
enginebay and onto the exposed chassis
while access was good, and before fi tting
any more bodysections.
