Build the most epic hero army of all time

Epic Heroes War

If you’re a fan of games like
Pokémon or Street Fighter,
you will probably get
hooked on Epic Heroes War, a new
fi ghting RPG. Starting out as a lowly
warrior with a few minions, you fi ght
your way through a series of fantasy
battles. Each victory earns you coins
to spend on armour, weapons and
your mini marauders.
Setting up takes under fi ve
minutes and then you’re free to do
battle in an imagined fantasy world.
You have four attacks available, each
offers something different, be it an
attack from a distance, one that
targets all enemies or just an epic
smash. These take a while to reload
so use them wisely. The battle
mechanics are simple but there’s enough to differentiate each attack.
This is a step up from the button-
mashing world of Street Fighter,
leaning more towards the tactical
battling of Pokémon.
After each battle you can upgrade,
giving you a rapid sense of
progression. You also have to make
tactical decisions on what items to
equip. Too little defence leaves you
exposed to attack, but not enough
attack means you lose out on a
bonus. The bonus mission option is a
nice touch. The missions range from
killing a certain number of enemies

to completing a battle without
summoning a single helper or losing
life. Successful missions earn you
gems that help you later in the game.
As with almost all free-to-play games,
you’ll progress faster by paying for
coin and equipment packages, but
you aren’t stopped moving forward if
you don’t. An excellent game that
looks good and plays well.

The Kesselberg is a

The controls take practice as they’re
completely invisible. Steer via screen
taps and braking by tapping the
bottom of the screen. However, it’s

although the constant revving is
unrealistic. With more visible and

good game, if a bit limited.
