Creating an AVD from a Pre-configured Device Definition
Six of the pre-configured AHDs are shown in Figure 2 -1 3. It will come as no surprise that many of the
device definitions are Google’s actual Nexus smartphone or tablet hardware products of one model or
another. If you scroll down underneath those (not shown in the figure), you’ll see more generic tablet
and smartphone hardware device definitions that you can use to emulate general types of devices.
- Let’s click on the Nexus One shown highlighted in Figure 2 -1 3 and enable the
Create AVD button shown on the right. - Click the Create AVD button with this Nexus One AHD selected, and you will
get the Create new Android Virtual Device (AVD) dialog shown in Figure 2 -1 4.
