Figure 3 -1 2. This will “invert” the selected white areas, deselecting them and
instead selecting the logo itself. This cool technique will allow you to easily
grab only the logo, since before only the white (non-logo) areas were selected,
and therefore after the Invert operation only the logo pixels (non-white-area)
are selected. The moral of this story? It’s easier for the selection tool to
select the (simple) contiguous white areas in the image than the complex
shading gradients in the logo, so the proper work process is to actually work
“backward,” or in reverse!
