The ultimate holiday brag?

Say hello to the grotto getaway

Want holiday “content” that’s more Instagrammable than you posing

on a unicorn floatie while sipping an Aperol? Why not try the

vacation where you stay in an actual cave? “Airbnb nestled in a cave”

is possibly the most unique holiday search you can do and there are

loads of gothic and not-so-gothic locations to choose from, including

Santorini in Greece, Ortahisar in Turkey, Gran Canaria and, um,

Worcestershire. “This kind of remote travel has become the new

unique experience,” says Grant Johnson, who owns a “cave house” in

Boulder, Utah, which you can rent on Airbnb. He says his mountain

hideaway has been popular with influencers, photographers and

hip-hop artists. For the less adventurous there’s La Gruta, the cave

restaurant lit by candles just outside Mexico City, or the Masseria

Torre Coccaro, a spa cave hotel on the Adriatic coast that

you enter via olive groves. You’ll be a “cave hugger” in no time.

Get on board with Swampy-core

Fashion’s latest muse? The Nineties eco-warrior Swampy (bottom

left). His look: a bit distressed, “avant apocalypse” (the layering of

minimalist basics to make you look like an extra from Dune) meets

techno squat rave circa 1988. Labels such as Collina Strada,

Dsquared2 and Y/Project are channelling the old DayGlo look slash

“sustainable protest in a tunnel” mood. Meanwhile, the trademark

Swampy (real name Daniel Marc Hooper) baby-braid barnet has

been hairspo for none other than Bella Hadid (below centre), who

has been sporting tiny Pippi Longstocking-like hair recently. All you

need is some dirt from the construction site of a high-speed railway

line lightly splashed on your face and you’ll be extremely on trend.
