The official opening of the new CAE Aviation facility at

Dothan RAP (AL) took place in March 2017. Since than nine

of the ten C-12U aircraft assigned to this flying school have

been confirmed. Prior to being delivered to CAE Avn, the

aircraft received attention by L3 Communications prepar-

ing them to serve in the flight training role. Several times

during June and July 2017, 85-01265 has been reported in the

Fort Rucker-Dothan area. This aircraft however was using

a “PAT” call sign, which indicates that it is still assigned to

Operational Support Airlift Command (OSACOM). It is there-

fore believed that this is not the registration of the missing

tenth C-12 assigned to CAE Aviation.

Stored between retired CH-47D Chinooks at Middletown-Summit Airport (DE) was CH-47F 07-08036. The reason for its presence is unknown. The

black dolphin on the rear pylon identifies B/3-82nd AVN from Fort Bragg (NC) as its previous unit. (9 July 2017, Erik-Jan Engelen)
