Radio Control Jet International - April-May 2018

(Tuis.) #1
The unit offers no less than 48 different light
sequences and effects, all of which can be
set using a combination of the set button on
the controller and the travel of the radio chan-
nel being used, so there should be something
to suit almost any taste. There are three basic
system settings, these being “Classic”,
“Modern” and “Effect”, the differences being
when, how and for how long specific lights
are energised, with particular emphasis on
the strobe and beacon functions. Further to
these three basic systems are the special
functions available through the Black.4, for
example the possibility to have the strobe
light operate as both a navigation light and
strobe light, whilst another option is to set
selected lights to have a soft transition, to
simulate the soft brightening and dimming of
older types of lights/beacons.
The 6/14watt nav/strobe lights are very neat,
having a double angled outer face, with the
front, smaller section housing the navigation
light LED’s, whilst the rear section carries the
strobe LED’s. This shape means that the
navigation lights show up perfectly from the
front and side of the model, while the strobe
lights are powerful enough to the seen from
most aspects. The green navigation lights are
of around 250 Lumens brightness, whilst the
red give roughly 160 Lumens - the white

Review - UNILIGHT AVANTI XXL LIGHTING SET

The powerful fuselage strobe light is very nicely produced and comes with
this neat lens, as well as a resistor for 3 cell Li-Po operation if preferred.
