Vikram Vuppala, Founder and CEO, NephroPlus, talks
about acquisition of DaVita Care India and re-defining
dialysis care in India

ephroPlus, India’s largest
dialysis provider network,
has recently acquired Da-
Vita Care India’s network of
22 centres. With this mega
acquisition, NephroPlus which had 154
centres currently, located in 93 cities, will
now have a presence in 18 states of India
with 176 centres across 97 cities. It plans to
make its mark globally as well for which it
is looking at more acquisitions in the next
few years.

You have recently announced the acquisi-
tion of DaVita Care India. Why was it the
right fit for an acquisition and how does it
strengthen NephroPlus’s market presence?
Over the last eight years of its presence,
NephroPlus has been redefining dialy-

operations, there had been no semblance
of a professional dialysis service provider
that had a large professional network
offering standardised clinical protocols,
cross infection prevention frameworks and
clinical outcome measurements in terms
of ICU admissions, mortality rate, KT/V,
anaemia management and cross infections.
Besides emerging as the largest dialysis
network in India, we have been recognised
for setting new benchmarks in dialysis care
and ensuring zero cross infections across
the network. We also publish our clinical
outcomes in various national and interna-
tional nephrology conferences every year.
With the acquisition of DaVita Care, we
have reaffirmed our strong commitment to
redefining the dialysis delivery eco-system
in India and abroad. Coming to your ques-
