Obscureco

N

ormally we only catch up
with Obscureco once a year
at the US Nationals but
at the show, one of there recent
sets had sold out, so they have
now posted us the missing set.
Designed to it any of nine
1/72 scale boxings of the A-3 Sky
warriors and variants released to
date this set supplies a seamless
intake for the engines and is
a very noticeable addition.
Fitting the set needs just a
thin razor saw to remove the
forward part of the kits engine and
enough courage to cut up quite an
expensive kit. The instructions use
thumbnail photographs and some
very humorous text to illustrate
exactly what you need to do.

A-3A/B/KA-23B/EKA-3B ENGINE INTAKES
Designed for: Hasegawa

CONCLUSION
Obscureco have quite a large
range now and the quality of the
casting and instructions are first
class. You can see the full range
at http://www.obscureco.com where
you can order the complete range
and they use a flat-fee postage
policy of $3 for the USA and $11 for
the rest of the world, per order.

Yahu Models

A

nother box from Yahu
supplying a selection of
their inished or pre-
painted instrument panels which
require some minor assembly as
well as etched brass seatbelts.
On the front of each pack is a
printed illustration of the panel
inside and it is only when you open
the packet you realise that all
of the detail seen on the printed
image is present on the scale
panel no matter the size, which
in 1/72 scale is quite amazing.

Eduard Löök

T

his month we take a ‘look’
at the two further releases
in the Eduard Löök range.
Both of this month’s sets are
for 1/32 scale Tamiya kits, the
P-51D-5 and the F4U-1A. The sets
are cast in black resin, with colour
printed details and the instrument
dials are glazed. These parts
are a direct replacement for the
kit parts, making these sets a
very simple drop in upgrade.

1/32 SCALE
634 002 F4U-1A (for Tamiya kit)
634 003 P-51D-5 (for Tamiya kit)

CONCLUSION
For 1/32 scale these instrument
panels offer a far more
3-dimensional option than a colour

photo-etched panel and I am sure as
more products are added to the line
this range will become very popular.

As it offers an easy to use upgrade to
your cockpit, with the added bonus
as they include a set of seatbelts.

My thanks to Eduard for
supplying these samples for
