I
rarely build models using
a kit’s decal sheet as I want
mine to be a bit diferent
from everyone else but even
when I buy an aftermarket
sheet I always ind out at the
next model show that someone
has also had the same idea.
Well with the latest sheet from
Modelmaker decals if you are
building a Luftwafe Euroighter
Typhoon you can build nearly
aircraft in the standard low
visibility camoulage scheme. This
sheet supplies a full set of stencils,
national insignias, and a number
jungle to produce any Luftwafenumber combination. Unit badges
are supplied for JG31, JG71,
JG73, JG74, JG71. The only
unit missing is JG33 which
is transitioning to the type

his month Lifelike
have released a sheet
covering one of the
most famous P-51 Mustangs in
the world. Big Beautiful Doll
has featured in numerous kits
and many aftermarket decal
sheets in the past. So what can
Lifelike bring to the party?
This sheet supplies marking for
the two aircraft lown by Major later
Colonel John Landers and charts
the development of the markings
over the course of just one year.
This leads to a surprising
selection of attractive colour
schemes including three examples
with the well known black and
white chequered nose which
illustrate not only the ever
increasing kill scoreboard but also
various other small changes to the
colour scheme between March and
June 1945. The decals are printed
to a very high standard and the
instructions are supplied printed
in colour on thin card and supply ashort history of each type and a full

nother single sheet
subject this month from
Fundekals and this time
they are covering the Republic
Thunderbolt. After the Second
World War civil aviation boomed
in the United States but the
US Air Force had an issue with
these amateur pilots blundering
into restricted airspace. In the
days before radio was advanced,
as it is today the simple answerwas to have an aircraft shepherd
the intruder out of the airspace.
At Wright Field that honour went
to an F-47 Thunderbolt, with
a large billboard on each side
of the fuselage telling pilots to
“Clear the Wight Field Area”.
