AVIATION ART GAvA EXHIBITION
Leonard Cheshire VC. Besides also
being exhibited at this year’s Flying
Legends at Duxford, they will hang
in the reception of The Law Society
in Chancery lane, London, in
December (limited edition prints are
also available).
Aviation art collectors generally
make a beeline for the GAvA show,
because they know it offers a great
opportunity to buy an original work,
to meet the artist, see what might
become available as a limited fine
art print or perhaps commission a
bespoke painting. To view this year’s
studies, and for further information

This atmospheric rendition of a boy with his model aircraft would resonate with any aviation enthusiast
who’s dabbled in kit-building. It was painted by David Young and entitled When I was a Boy I had a Dream.
The exhibition wasn’t
just about paintings
of aircraft, as there
were also portraits
of people from the
world of aviation.
This likeness of
serving RAF airframe
technician Jen Wright
was completed by
Chris Draper. Besides
knowing her way
around the C-130
Hercules at Brize
Norton, Jen is also a
talented modeller who
writes for FlyPast’s
sister publication,
Airfi x Model World.
