illustrious test and research flying history,
not least through its excellent museum which
includes several former RAE/DRA/DERA aircraft

• and, now, the prototype of the extraordinary
  QinetiQ/Airbus-built Zephyr solar-powered,
  unmanned, high-altitude pseudo-satellite aircraft.

GLIDING HERITAGE CENTRE

Lasham, with its long history of sailplane activity,

has proved to be the perfect home for a museum

dedicated to the history of gliding. Some exhibits

are airworthy, others static. A second hangar will

open this spring, probably in April.

MUSEUM OF ARMY FLYING

The story of flying in, and in support of the British

Army, from before World War One to the present,

is of course the focus of the MoAF. There’s also

the opportunity to watch the modern-day Army

Air Corps at work.
