No tourer is complete without a schmick 12V setup, and
Shannons HiLux is no different. “The HiLux has three
batteries”, comments Shannon, “with two under the bonnet
and one in the canopy. They are controlled by a CTEK D250
DC-DC Charger and I have a 100W solar panel on the roof
which is angled to help defl ect wind over the rooftop tent. In
the canopy I have mounted a fuse panel and solar regulator as
well as some charging 12V sockets too. I have also mounted a
Makita battery charger in the canopy too, so I can run
powertools out bush.”
