03: DESIGN RHYLL HOUSE
LOCATION RHYLL, PHILLIP ISLAND
This striking steel, timber and stone home
is quite the conversation topic in the petite
fi shing village of Rill — and for all the right
reasons. It houses 10 humans and two dogs
who have plenty of room to run, romp and
relax in this stylish home. The open-plan
design invites the outdoors in, and when you
step onto the outside deck it’s the ultimate
in relaxation with a sparkling swimming pool,
alfresco setting for dining under a starry sky,
and an outdoor sofa and chairs that are the
perfect spot for some quiet contemplation
or to take in the sweeping views that stretch
beyond the perimeter of the property.

04: DESIGN GLASS HOUSE
LOCATION DOONAN, QUEENSLAND
Architect Sarah Waller had a vision to create
a home that would feel at one with the
environment, but that would also off er a
splash of decadence. “I wanted a transparent
house that you could see straight through,”
says Sarah. “But I also wanted the design to
be like a luxe resort experience so I could
feel like I was on holiday every day.” Around

the swimming pool, twin sun loungers off er
a place to soak up some rays, and under the
generous cabana, a cosy sofa beckons. This
tree-lined urban oasis also has an outdoor
shower for a quick rinse off after a dip in the
pool, and an outdoor bathtub in a pretty

secluded garden space, perfect for soaking
away the cares of the day.
